Terex accessories TEREX spare parts share common faults and troubleshooting of heavy truck steering system with you

When you encounter these problems in the process of driving a truck, this is how to deal with them.

Truck turning basin

Symptoms

Turning the steering wheel feels more difficult than usual when the car is turning.

Fault cause

① The meshing distance m of the steering gear is too small, the axial clearance of each bearing of the steering gear is too small, and the steering gear is short of oil.

② The steering shaft is bent and the column tube is concave, which causes the collision with the steering shaft.

③ The ball joint pin of each tie rod of the steering transmission mechanism is too tight, and the tie rod, straight rod or steering knuckle are deformed.

④ The thrust bearing of the steering knuckle is lack of oil, damaged or the axial clearance of the bearing M (too small.

⑤ The front tire pressure is too low.

⑥ Front wheel alignment is out of alignment.

⑦ The front wheel hub bearing is too tight.

⑧ The front beam or frame is deformed.

Diagnosis and troubleshooting

① Jack up the front axle, suspend the front wheel and turn the steering wheel. If it is obviously light and labor-saving, the fault lies in the front wheel, front axle or frame. If the steering is still laborious, remove the pitman arm and continue to turn the steering wheel. If it is obviously light and labor-saving, the fault lies in the steering transmission mechanism; If it is still laborious, the fault lies in the steering gear.

② If the fault lies in the steering gear, first check whether the external steering shaft is deformed or depressed, and then check whether the clearance between bearings is too small and whether there is oil shortage.

③ If the fault lies in the steering transmission mechanism of TEREX spare parts, check whether the connection of each part of the steering transmission mechanism is too tight, or check whether each pull

Check whether the rod and steering knuckle are deformed, and whether the axial clearance of steering knuckle kingpin is too small.

④ Check the tire pressure, the tightness of the wheel hub bearing, and the front wheel alignment. If necessary, check whether the front beam and frame are deformed.

➔ The truck steering is not sensitive and the handling is unstable

Symptoms

When you operate the steering wheel, you feel the most spacious. You need to turn the steering wheel greatly to control the direction of the car; The car feels unstable when driving in a straight line.

Fault cause

① The engagement clearance of steering gear is too large, and the mounting bolts of steering gear are loose.

② The steering shaft and steering wheel are loose.

③ The ball joint pins of the steering transmission mechanism are loose.

④ The clearance of front wheel hub bearing is too large.

⑤ The front wheel toe-in of the car is too large.

Diagnosis and troubleshooting

① Check the free travel of the steering wheel. If the free travel is too large, it means that there is a fault of too large idle in the steering system; If it is normal, it indicates that the cause of the fault is that the gap between the front wheel stage bearings is too large, the gap between the main pin and the steering knuckle bushing hole is too large, the axial gap between the main pin and the steering knuckle is too large, and the toe-in is too large.

② One person turns the steering wheel in place, and the other person observes the swing of the pitman arm. When the pitman arm starts to swing, the free travel of the steering wheel is not large, indicating that the steering transmission mechanism is loose; Otherwise, the steering gear is loose.

③ Check the front wheel hub bearing, main pin, etc. and find out the loose part.

④ Check the toe-in at night. When the toe-in value is too large, it is often accompanied by abnormal tire wear.

⏵ The flat transport vehicle deviates when driving

Symptoms

When the truck is driving in a straight line, the driver needs to keep pulling the steering wheel gently to one side to keep driving in a straight line. Otherwise, the car will automatically run to one side.

Fault cause

① The pressure of the left and right wheels is different, and the tyres are drunk and damaged, and the specifications are different.

② The alignment angles of the two front wheels are different.

③ The preload of the two front wheel hub bearings is different.

④ The brake on one side of the wheel of the TEREX spare part of Terex accessories is dragging.

⑤ The frame is deformed, one side of the steel plate is snapped or too soft, and one axle is skewed.

⑥ Don't be too big or too small.

Diagnosis and troubleshooting

① Check whether the wheel hub and brake on the off-side are too tight. If the tension is too high, the wheel hub bearing is too tight and the brake is dragging.

② Check the tyre pressure of TEREX spare parts and the preload of wheel hub bearing.

③ The new tire deviates, and the main reason for the failure is different tire specifications.

④ Check whether the leaf spring is loose or broken, whether the axle is skewed or displaced, and whether the frame is deformed.

⑤ Check the front wheel alignment.
